Yes, sad, but true. I will be heading out to New York on the weekend to do some reporting from the Republican National Convention.
As I get ready over the next few days, posting here will be light.
During the RNC I will be blogging daily on both the L.A. Weekly and The Nation websites.

While you're there, perhaps a comment or two about what appears to me to be a much more open credentialing process for the RNC than the DNC. As I recall the DNC tightly held bloggers to those more on the left while the RNC is allowing many more of the left, and even Al Jazeera to be present. Whoda thunk it? The RNC more open and inclusive than the DNC!!

--I guess it's all even then, the RNC doesn't allow Democrats into the 'town meetings' that Bush holds. I hope the RNC convention looks something like this:
